On Monday 22nd August, a delegation of educators from the Islamic Private Schools Network who work at schools in Thailand’s southern most provinces, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, visited Chiang Mai.
Thailand’s restive South has seen increasing levels violence since 2001, with militants frequently targeting schools with explosive devices. The teachers that work in this region are doing an essential job, in increasingly difficult circumstances. It was an honour to meet with these dedicated educators and learn about the great work they do.
