Daniel Maxwell is a writer and educator who has been living and working in Asia for the past three decades.

Daniel holds a BA in English literature from the University of London and an MA in Education Leadership from the University of Bath.

He is a volunteer evaluator with the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is currently the Principal and Head of School at Singapore International School Chiangmai (SISB Chiangmai).

He is also the Chair Person for CMCIS, the Circle of Chiang Mai International Schools, a cooperative network of leading international schools in Northern Thailand.


Doctoral Studies & Research Focus

Daniel is currently studying for his Doctorate Degree in Education (EdD) at the University of Bath.

Grounded in constructivist and interpretivist perspectives, Daniel holds the belief that reality is shaped by individual and cultural experiences. His academic research focuses on understanding and valuing diverse worldviews, fostering cross-cultural communication, and creating inclusive spaces for students and families to thrive. Passionate about building bridges across cultures, Daniel’s approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and a respect for the richness of human narratives.


Daniel has written for Asian Correspondent, The Nation, Bangkok Post, Domino and South China Morning Post.
